For the first time since moving back down south, I had a gig in the Portsmouth Pyramids. The venue is a leisure centre by day and a venue by day, which sometimes is okay (I’m looking at you, Swindon Oasis) but on this occasion was pretty bad. There was no lighting rig to the front of the stage, and the only lights capable of lighting the acts properly were hanging from small stands to the side of the stage, which overhung by no more than 1ft.

The only solution to come away with anything from this tour was to use flash. I don’t like doing this, because I feel you lose some of the atmosphere, but I’m happy with the results nevertheless.
