Download seems to have taken an absolute age to come back around, but the final few days sprinted past. From the outset, the festival was dominated by a blazing sun in a cloudless sky.

While the site usually opens at 10 or 11am, this year it opened at 2pm and the bands started at 3pm. Not much time, then, for music until curfew. All bands were to finish before AC/DC started, so if you’re not shooting them, you don’t get many bands to shoot on the first day. Quite a nice way to get back into the swing of shooting at a festival.
