Sometimes I can’t believe what I’m writing when I name a new folder to organise the live shots of bands I’ve photographed. It’s getting more and more frequent, but stand-out buzz moments have definitely been naming folders ‘Rage Against The Machine’, ‘Tom Jones’ and today ‘Bon Jovi.’

It takes me back to when I was just starting out and it gives me chance for a bit of perspective to appreciate the opportunities I’ve had to do this sort of stuff. Apart from absolutely loving the rush of capturing the energy of live performers and making (hopefully) great photos, it’s the reason why I think and hope I’ll never stop.

Photographers were only allowed behind the ‘Diamond Circle’ area (holding fans paying £225 each – ouch…) which was the equivalent of shooting from the sound desk at a normal gig.
