I already knew the perils of arriving too late to the Underworld after shooting Sum 41 here in February. There’s no photo pit so you’re limited to shooting from the mosh (and with BTBAM there’s a LOT of that) and you need to arrive well before the doors open. I arrived about 30 minutes before doors and managed to get into the second row from the stage, hoping my years of going to gigs as a fan would pay off in keeping all my gear protected while working my way to the front. Elbows at the ready.

In all seriousness the jostling behind and around me didn’t make much difference; it was the low red light that caused most problems. After five or six songs, I’d managed to get what I wanted from the floor and retreated to side and back of stage.
