After shooting Mumford & Sons I jumped onto the big wheel outside the Radio 1 / NME tent they were playing. Didn’t have time to get pics on my phone, so this pic from the back of my camera shows the massive number of people watching. Contender for headline next year I reckon.
It rained briefly earlier on, but nowhere near as much as Reading! The good thing is is all stages are in tents (except the main stage) meaning you can stay nice and dry while shooting. My camera breathes a sigh of relief. So do my shoes, socks and feet.
Just got into the arena at Leeds, my first time here. I’m used to heavier festivals, with less diversity in music, so this is pretty different. The thing that really strikes me is the number of people doing nothing music related. So many people just hanging out, nowhere near a stage. £180 for the pleasure [...]
Suicidal Tendencies were the last band I shot. In a complete swing of genre, tonight it’s none other than Westlife at Bristol City Football Club. My first time at a concert in a football stadium. Ain’t too bad. Life’s grand!
I know that Glastonbury is the true home of the muddy weekend, but this was my first experience of it. The rain thrashed Download, to the point where even the brave thought twice before going out in it. Us hardy photographers braved the elements though, donning ponchos and rain covers for our cameras. A few [...]
It’s tipping it down. The press area is deserted and Billy Idol is getting a bit soggy…
Right now I’m stood at the side of the main stage waiting for 7pm and the imminent appearance of Deftones. I’ve wanted to photograph Deftones since the beginning of my time snapping live music, and today I get to fulfill this dream!
The sun has been baking the Download site all day. There are already plenty of sunburn arms, shoulders and necks… my face might have ‘caught the sun’ a bit too! I’ve been stationed at the second stage (aka Ronnie James Dio stage) which has been getting better and busier as time has gone on. Bullet [...]
I’ve just arrived to shoot Two Door Cinema Club at Heaven in London. This is the lighting for the support. Looks like the lighting guy had a few tins of Red Bull for breakfast. Hope it’s better for TDCC!
I’ve just upgraded my phone to something which works, and part of the package is the ability to update this website on the move. Brilliant. So I thought I’d take advantage of this and post updates from gigs and festivals. It’ll be a bit like a picture blog, but with shots taken on the fly. [...]
